Nap pods are coming to European airports, offering stranded and sleepy passengers a needed break before their connecting flight, Travel and Leisure reported.
The pods are sleek, futuristic-looking self-contained enclosures with a comfortable chair inside that readily converts to a bed.
In addition to offering a place to nap privately, passengers can store their carryon luggage, charge their portable electronics and surf the web with Wi-Fi. Each pod also comes with a built-in TV screen with Netflix for the not-so-weary.
For those who want to grab a nap, the pods, which circulate purified air, include an alarm clock so passengers won’t get left behind at the gate.
The nap pods, developed by two frequent flying Slovenian businessmen who saw the need, can be rented by the hour.
“Our aim is to improve and make travel experience comfortable and enjoyable each and every hour, whilst transiting,” the company’s website says.
The pods will begin their testing phase in European airports later this year. After that, you may see them at airports around the world.
The pods are apparently arriving just in time. Some folks on social media wonder why they’re not here already.
