"Naked and Afraid" contestant Matt Alexander was arrested after allegedly beating his girlfriend and holding her against her will in a car, police said.
The former reality TV star, who survived three weeks naked in the extreme wilderness for the popular show, was apprehended in Louisiana and charged for domestic battery and false imprisonment after his girlfriend came forth with allegations that he had hit her during a heated argument, TMZ reported, citing law enforcement officials.
The incident took place last Sunday. The couple got into a heated argument while driving down Interstate 10 when Alexander reportedly struck his girlfriend several times in the face. He then refused to let her leave the car for 40 minutes.
Investigators noted bruising on the woman's face as well as broken blood vessels around her eye and arrested Alexander the following day. He has since been released after posting a $3,500 bond, according to TMZ.
Alexander appeared in "Naked and Afraid" back in 2016, when he managed to survive for 21 days in the Philippines jungle nude.
