For the second time in recent years, Google Maps has added a Pac-Man adaptation — this time it's Ms. Pac-Man — to its mobile apps for April Fool’s Day.
Google has played around with Pac-Man before, introducing a web variation in 2015 on its Maps website and creating a Doodle version of the popular game in 2010 that can still be played today, according to The Telegraph.
The game can be accessed by tapping the Ms. Pac-Man dot on the lower right corner of the app screen. When a player selects a location, the app turns the actual streets into a Ms. Pac-Man game, the Telegraph said. The game is harder than the original, since the streets may have dead ends and players don’t know where they will go when they exit the screen.
There are different levels in many cities, USA Today reported. The game may prove to be a big distraction from productive activities, although April Fools' Day falls on a Saturday this year.
Google announced the innovation with a Hall and Oates reference and a hashtag.
Twitter went a little crazy over the development.
