We know which movies were blockbuster hits this last decade, but what about the ones that flopped? There are many reasons why movies fail but some fail spectacularly!. Here are 10 of the biggest movie bombs of the last decade, as listed by Yardbarker:

1. "John Carter" - There was potential for this film, based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' series of novels. Millions went into the movie but a subpar marketing scheme led to its downfall, and a $200 million loss. "John Carter" grossed a mere $284.1 million worldwide.

2. "Terminator: Dark Fate" - So much hype was created around this 2019 film, which once again saw James Cameron at the helm as producer, but even this has not helped "Terminator: Dark Fate," which has lost $120 million.

3. "Tomorrowland" - This movie had all the elements to be a hit. Even a stellar cast and the original storyline could not save Disney’s  "Tomorrowland" from tanking.

4. "Transformers: The Last Knight" - Somehow this $217 million movie managed to slip under many people's radar. The fifth installment of the Transformers series underperformed.

5. "The Lone Ranger" - A cult following may be the best thing that "The Lone Ranger" garners because rave reviews and public hype is definitely not going to happen. This movie is an example of how blowing $250 million can still not guarantee success.

6. "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" - A beautiful cast featuring Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne should have pulled more crowds than this movie did, which goes to show that attractive looking characters alone cannot win over an audience. This movie grossed $226 million worldwide and suffered an $82 million loss.

7. "Blackhat" - Critics tore this movie apart. Chris Hemsworth as the lead could not stop them from posting negative reviews. "Blackhat" went on to gross a mere $20 million worldwide- this from a $70 million budget.

8. "Pan" - The Peter Pan concept has been overdone and this shows by the lukewarm response to "Pan." Even the talented Joe Wright, who is responsible for hits like "Pride and Prejudice" and "Atonement," could not stop this movie from taking a loss estimated to be somewhere between $85 million and $150 million.

9. "A Wrinkle in Time" - Another over-hyped movie that flopped. "A Wrinkle in Time" was initially meant to be part of a three-part series but that was quickly put to rest after this $125 million production failed to wow its audiences.

10. "The BFG" - You would think that this Roald Dahl adaption, which was driven by the same team responsible for "E.T.," would be well received. It wasn't.
