A Texas mom was accused of shooting and killing her two daughters in their sleep last week, and then waking her husband to say, “Babe, I just shot the kids.”
Sarah Nicole Henderson, 29, was arrested on Thursday morning after her husband, Jacob Henderson, found his two step daughters, aged five and seven, dead in the living room, People magazine reported.
According to a police report, Jacob Henderson contacted police three times that night, once because he said his wife was displaying suicidal behaviors, then to say she had calmed down and the third time to report the murders.
In the initial 911 call placed at around 11:30pm on Wednesday, Jacob Henderson told operators that Sarah Henderson was “freaking out like somebody's out to get her," CBS News reported.
"She won't listen to me. She won't talk to me,” he continued.
Minutes later he called to cancel the report, claiming “she’s fine now.”
Three hours later Jacob Henderson called again to report his wife had just shot their two daughters.
“She was asleep when I went to sleep last night,” he said, per The Associated Press.
“I woke up and she came in there and said, ‘Babe, I just shot the kids.’ And I didn’t want to believe it. I went in there and they were dead,” Jacob Henderson told the 911 dispatcher.
Sarah Henderson was charged with capital murder and is being held on a $2 million bond. No motive for the shooting has been established but a neighbor told CBS that she often heard Sarah Henderson yelling at her two daughters.
ABC News said deputies had been alerted to domestic disputes before at the Henderson’s house.
