A shooting at the Westfield Mission Valley Mall in San Diego left one woman dead and a man in critical condition early Tuesday morning.

The man who was taken to the hospital had wounds to the head and chest.
Police told NBC that there were witnesses to the shooting who are being interviewed and surveillance video is being examined. The male suspect was described as wearing tan pants and driving a gray Honda.
The Macy’s store was open until 2 a.m. for special holiday shopping hours.
UT TV in San Diego said both victims were in their 20s.
Police said it is too early in the investigation to speculate on whether the attacker knew the victims or whether the shooting was random, NBC said.
Other shootings across the country have occurred at malls as shoppers prepared for the holidays, including the shooting death of a
man in New Jersey who was killed when four men carjacked his Range Rover. The four suspects have been arrested.
