Actor Misha Collins reportedly was mugged after dining out in Minneapolis, at least according to social media reports, but local police appeared to be in the dark about the incident.
Collins, 41, a star on the CW series "Supernatural," was in Minneapolis for a convention related to the television program when the incident occurred,
according to Us Weekly. Fellow actor and "Supernatural" co-star Jim Beaver posted a message on Facebook about the incident.
"My buddy … Misha Collins was followed out of a restaurant in Minneapolis by three men last night and beaten and robbed," Beaver wrote on a Facebook post that has since been deleted, noted Us Weekly. "He's all right, more or less, with some stitches and a fat lip."
Collins posted a message on Twitter to tell fans that he was fine.
Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder told the
Star Tribune, though, that police had not been notified of Collins being attacked and he didn't know of any police report made about the incident. Elder said he had heard rumors about the attack.
Per social media posts, Richard Speight Jr., the master of ceremonies and a co-star of "Supernatural," announced at the event, also known as MinnCon, that Collins had been mugged and would not appear on a panel Saturday.
HollywoodTake.com said Collins posed for photos with fans despite sporting stitches on Saturday, quoting another social media report.
News of the alleged incident sparked the hashtag #WeLoveYouMisha which trended on social media over the weekend.
