Mickey Rourke Dive: Boxer He KO'd Got $15K to Throw Fight

The boxer who Mickey Rourke knocked out in a November fight in Russia admitted Tuesday to TMZ Sports that he took a dive for $15,000 and claims he is speaking out because Rourke's camp hasn't paid up.

Hardly anyone was convinced the fight between the 62-year-old Oscar nominee and Elliott Seymour, 29, was real, according to USA Today. The fight went two of the scheduled five rounds.

"(Rourke) knocked Seymour down twice before the referee stopped the fight," wrote USA Today's Michah Peters. "That sounds impressive right? Not so. … I wasn't there, but if I were I'd probably send a sternly worded letter to the commissioner, petitioning for some amount of my money back. I'm not sure what I expected, but still."

TMZ Sports reported that after dodging numerous punches by Seymour, Rourke landed "a handful of feeble punches," one of which reportedly floored Seymour.

The win brought out critics on social media.

Seymour told TMZ Sports he was promised $10,000 to go down in the second round and another $5,000 when he returned to the United States .

Seymour said he believed Rourke didn't know the fight was staged, adding he believed the actor was a "stand up guy." He said now he would like to have a legitimate fight.

That fight won't happen in New Jersey. Larry Hazzard Sr. of the state's athletic control board said he wouldn't issue a license to Seymour.

"He admitted that he took a dive. I would not issue him a license based off that admission," Hazzard told TMZ Sports.

Rourke's manager told TMZ that Seymour will get the money he was promised and claimed the boxer is trying to ride the attention he received from the fight.
