Brazil first pointed an accusatory finger at Jagger four years ago, when Brazil lost to the Netherlands at the World Cup in South Africa, with
Jagger in the stands wearing a Brazilian jersey, The Associated Press reported. He previously had cheered on the United States and England, who lost.
Fans have taken to Twitter to beg the singer not to jinx their team and to cheer for their opponents instead.
While Brazilians poke fun at Jagger’s World Cup picks, they show up in droves to support The Rolling Stones, whose 2006 concert on Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro drew an estimated 1 million people, the AP noted.
