Michael Jordan or LeBron James? A fight over which is a better basketball player turned physical Saturday and led to a Pennsylvania man being arrested twice and charged with aggravated assault.
According to the Centre Daily Times, Daniel Mondelice, 22, was first taken into custody at about 3:50 a.m. local time Saturday when police responded to a call at an apartment complex about the fight. He was released on bond and told to stay away, but returned to stay with a woman in a different apartment, police said.
Police were summoned a second time at 6:30 p.m. when Mondelice allegedly became argumentative and refused to leave, the Centre Daily Times reportedf. He was charged with "felony criminal trespass and misdemeanor harassment" following the second arrest, the paper said.
Police didn't say if Mondelice was on Team Jordan or Team James.
Bail was set at $10,000. Mondelice is scheduled for a hearing on Wednesday.
This isn't the first time a silly argument has turned violent. Last week, two Oklahoma roommates reportedly stabbed each other with beer bottles following a heated debate over whether an iPhone is better than an Android phone.
In many basketball circles, Jordan is considered the greatest to ever play basketball, with six NBA titles. He was named the MVP of the Finals five times as well as the regular-season MVP five times. His career scoring average (30.1 points per game), MVP award shares (8.138), and player efficiency rating (27.9) are all No. 1 in NBA history.
Meanwhile, James is still writing his NBA legacy. He has won two Finals MVP Awards, and four regular-season MVP Awards.
In a
2013 Sports Illustrated story, James acknowledged that he aspired to be the greatest player in the history of the game.
"I want to be the greatest of all time," James said. "It's that simple, I'm far away from it, but I see the light."
