Michael Bublé's wife, Luisana Lopilato, is rushing to the singer's defense amid massive backlash that erupted after he elbowed her in a recent Instagram live video. The celebrity couple has been sharing fun at-home videos while holed up in their home together amid the coronavirus epidemic but Bublé was lambasted for being an "aggressive" husband after the video went viral.
In the clip, which is no longer on Lopilato's Instagram account, the couple is sitting side by side smiling and chatting when Bublé appears to elbow his wife, pulls her close then bump her before draping his arm around her shoulders. The footage was made available via The Sun.
Fans were quick to suggest that Bublé was abusive and this week Lopilato addressed the criticism in an Instagram post written in Spanish.
"It's amazing how some human beings are!! While we go through this pandemic, and live moments of lockdown, distress, fear, loneliness, uncertainties of all kinds!," she wrote, per Fox News.
"Every day we go out with my husband to do alive (sic) to bring them some joy, entertainment, longing, and we have to endure to hear and see what malicious people post who come out to talk anything and without knowing anything about our family."
Lopilato added: "I want you to know that I have no doubts who my husband is and I would choose him one and a thousand times more!!"
One fan posted to Twitter that Bublé was "an aggressive person, verbally and physically," adding that "Luisana is not your cleaning lady, the nanny of your children or thing you can control."
"Just one wish, stop being aggressive with luisana dude!" another Twitter user wrote.
Lopilato dismissed the remarks aimed at her husband, stating that she would "leave the consequences for God!"
"The world needs right now more than ever 'love, hope, values, unity and solidarity.' NOT these kind of people," Lopilato said.
