Singer Michael Bublé announced Friday that his 3-year-old son Noah with wife Luisana Lopilato has cancer and that both parents are putting their careers on pause while their son battles the disease.
He posted the announcement on Facebook on Friday morning, saying, “We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the U.S.”
Both Michael and Luisana decided to put their “careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well,” the statement continued. Bublé asked for prayers and that everyone would respect the family’s privacy.
“We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friend and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing,” Bublé said.
More than 11,000 fans commented, many offering support and sharing their own cancer experiences or those of family members and friends.
Bublé and Lopilato also have a 9-month-old son, Elias. Bublé is from Canada and Lopilato is from Argentina. They had traveled to the U.S. to get a diagnosis for an illness of Noah’s that they thought was mumps before the cancer was discovered, Entertainment Today Canada reported.
The type of cancer Noah has was not given, nor was the stage, or severity, of the disease.
