Melissa Joan Hart is celebrating a 40-pound weight loss since the birth of her third child in September 2012, which she credits in large part to the dietary guidance offered by Nutrisystem, the diet company for which she is also a spokesperson.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 37-year-old perky blonde star of the popular '90s show "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" who is currently starring in ABC's sitcom "Melissa & Joey," discussed her substantial weight loss.

"I felt prepared. I was confident," Hart told Entertainment Tonight of her new Nutrisystem ad spot that features the star in a one-piece swimsuit. "I don't wear bikinis even when I go to the beach, so when I put it on in front of the cameras and all these people, and my husband showed up — its nervewracking but the feeling is very satisfying."
Hart said she had gained 60 pounds as a result of her third pregnancy, adding that unlike her first two pregnancies, this time around she lacked the motivation to lose the baby weight so quickly, considering that she had been gradually chipping away at the extra weight over the past 17 months.
"For me, it was important to bond with my child, as opposed to 'lose the weight.' So I waited until I was ready, and I knew I had the time, and then I made it a priority that I would eat well," Hart told Entertainment Tonight. "In the beginning, I felt an uncomfortable pressure that I rebelled against, but this third time, I had to go back on camera, I wanted to look great, so I focused on it once I knew I had the time in my schedule."
Hart has three sons with her musician husband Mark Wilkerson: Mason, 7, Brady, 5, and Tucker, who is nearly 18 months old.
As for whether she will lose the additional 20 pounds to get back to her initial weight prior to her last pregnancy, Hart said, "I am actually — I am really happy where I am. I could live like this. I'm on a good path — I love where I'm at and I feel amazing."
In April 2013, after losing her initial 20 pounds,
Hart was selected as the new spokesperson for Nutrisystem, after she credited the diet company in public for her weight loss, telling reporters, "I love working with Nutrisystem. The program is really delivering results for me and I look forward to long term success, staying motivated and helping others do the same."
