Meghan Markle's half-sister believes she and Prince Harry are heading for divorce. The royal couple caused a massive sensation following their explosive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, and Samantha Markle believes the response could mark the end of their marriage.
"I see it ending in divorce unless they get extensive counseling and can agree to work on being honest, to work on apologies to everyone that they've damaged in the course of this bull in a china shop, two-year spiel," she told TMZ in a report published Monday. "I mean, nothing about any of this has been honest, and the damage to the Royals has been massive – especially now."
Samantha believes Prince Harry might already be rethinking their marriage.
"What man would be happy or comfortable like that? And the minute I believe he starts dissenting or pulling back from her, I think it can get nasty, unless he has a really good lawyer or they have really good counselors," she continued. "I don't know what it's gonna take."
Samantha further called for Meghan to make a public apology to her estranged father, Thomas Markle, who she did "a lot of damage" to.
"She would have to apologize – a public apology, God, I know would be like getting blood from a rock, but she did a lot of public damage," Samantha said when asked what Meghan would need to do to restore their strained relationship.
"She did a lot of damage to a man who gave her an incredible life – so hurtful, so wrong," Samantha said. "She would need to make the first move and, I mean, you know, parents are always unconditionally loving but, God, she really hurt him."
Last week Thomas spoke up about the interview, defending the British royal family from claims of racism Meghan had made.
During her interview with Oprah, Meghan revealed an unnamed family member expressed concerns over the skin color of her and Prince Harry's son, Archie. Thomas said the remark was not racist but more likely just a "dumb question," according to Reuters.
"I have great respect for the royals, and I don't think the British royal family are racist at all. I don't think the British are racist, I think Los Angeles is racist, California is a racist, but I don’t think the Brits are," Thomas told ITV. "The thing about what color will the baby be or how dark will the baby be; I'm guessing and hoping it's just a dumb question from somebody. It could be somebody asked a stupid question. Rather than being a total racist."
