Meghan Markle might have been a Bond girl if she wasn't in a relationship with Prince Harry.
According to The Sun, the "Suits" actress caught the attention of James Bond producers for an upcoming film until her relationship with Harry became public and they figured she wasn’t available.
Producers ruled out the 36-year-old actress as a love interest for Daniel Craig in “Bond 25.” The movie is set to be released in 2019.
"Meghan fits the role of a Bond girl perfectly," a film source told The Sun. "She's glamorous and sexy and a good actress."
The souce said the producers had narrowed down a shortlist that included Markle and four other actresses, but "her engagement effectively [spelled] an end to her acting career too, so that was the final blow."
Markle left "Suits" after seven years, telling her agent and Hollywood friends she is no longer pursuing acting after her engagement to Prince Harry.
"I don't see it as giving anything up. I just see it as a change. It's a new chapter," she told the BBC in the couple’s first interview.
Markle and Harry, who are set to marry May 19, met on a blind date by a mutual friend in July 2016. The romance blossomed and the couple announced their engagement in November. Harry said he fell in love with her “so incredibly quickly,” feeling the “stars were aligned.”
Markle’s TV roles also included appearances on “90210,” “Castle,” and “CSI: Miami,” but now the role of princess will be her crowning achievement.
