U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu helped a football tailgater do a keg stand at a Louisiana State University pregame party on Saturday, cramming the campus visit into a packed schedule ahead of her re-election bid this November.
According to Roll Call, Landrieu was offered a keg stand herself, but graciously declined, agreeing to hold the keg spigot for another fan while he did one.
"They tried to get me to do it," the Democrat from Louisiana said after the LSU fan had gulped down some suds. "His father was there, so I felt OK about it."

Several students and fans took pictures of the occasion, and posted them to social media sites including Twitter.
Landrieu's challenger, Republican Rep. Bill Cassidy, also stopped by campus roughly an hour later to canvas voters with handshakes and campaign flyers. Polling indicates that the race is a tossup, and likely the tightest race in all of the midterm elections.
Landrieu
told a reporter from Mother Jones who was accompanying her through the tens of thousands of fans that it was her first encounter with the concept of chugging beer from a keg while upside-down.
"My first keg stand!" she exclaimed. "He wanted me to do it, but I said absolutely not — at least not in front of the national press."
Asked if she would have done it if she knew it would've gotten her a few more votes she responded, "That's alright — I'm not that desperate."
