Man Ticketed: Carpool Lane Passenger Was a Cutout of Dos Equis Actor

A Washington man driving in the carpool lane was ticketed for trying to pass a cardboard cutout of “The Most Interesting Man in the World” as a passenger in his vehicle.

A Washington State Patrol trooper stopped the driver along Interstate 5 in Tacoma after spotting the cutout of actor Jonathan Goldsmith, known for his role in Dos Equis beer commercials.

“He couldn’t have used a more recognizable face,” State Patrol spokesman Guy Gill told ABC News.

The driver shared a laugh with the trooper who stopped him before getting a $124 ticket for the stunt.

Gill posted about the ticket on Twitter, playing off the expressions popularized by the commercials.

Gill said this is the best prop he’s seem from drivers trying to cheat the carpool lane rules, KOMO-TV reported.

Twtiter users commented about the traffic stop.
