Male models clashed in the streets of London earlier this year, fighting to the death wielding a machete and knives, and on Monday George Koh, 24, was found guilty for murdering fellow model Harry Uzoka, 25.
The fatal clash that arose in January, People magazine noted.
The two shared a rocky relationship, which manifested into a full-blown dispute in the months leading up to Uzoka's death and prosecutors said jealousy was at the root of the situation.
Uzoka was on his way to becoming an established icon in the fashion industry, having modeled for top brands, landed a movie role and been snapped up by a prestigious modelling management firm.
Amid rising tensions, Uzoka sent a message to Koh that read, "Leave my name out of your mouth, it's that's simple, I've never spoken bad of you in any way, so this is wild," The Mirror reported.
Koh allegedly retaliated by claiming to have slept with Uzoka's girlfriend, Ruby Campbell.
"Koh claimed that he knew Uzoka well and then said that he had sex with Uzoka's girlfriend and that was the reason why they no longer talked," said prosecutor Richard Horwell QC, according to BBC.
On Jan. 11, Koh sent a message to Uzoka stating that they should hash the whole thing out in person.
"Where you I'll come there n we can fight bring ur friends with u," he said, according to BBC, to which Uzoka, replied: "Come Shepherd's Bush."
Koh took his friends along with him as back up, carrying knives and a machete to the arranged meeting spot.
When they encountered Uzoka, who brought a dumbbell bar to the fight, they proceeded to chase him down the streets, People said.
Prosecutors said the scuffle ended when Koh reportedly cornered Uzoka and stabbed him in the heart, The New York Post said.
However, the suspect claimed that Uzoka, who died on the sidewalk, punched him and then toppled over onto the knife.
Horwell told jurors that Koh "plainly had an obsession with Harry Uzoka," The Mirror reported. "He even suggested to one witness that they were at a similar level in the modelling world - and that was not true," the prosecutor said.
"Whatever was going on in Koh's mind, and you may think you haven't been told anything like the truth, whatever was going on in his mind was festering into an unhealthy and toxic mix, and that is what the events of 11 January suggest."
Koh and his two friends, Jonathan Okigbo, 24, and Merse Dikanda, 24, were all found guilty Monday and will be sentenced on Sep. 21, People noted.
Koh and Dikanda, who were armed, were found guilty of murder while Okigbo, who was not armed, was found guilty of manslaughter.
