Prince William and Kate Middleton's figures at Madame Tussauds London got a makeover that was revealed this week at the famed wax museum.

The finished product gave the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's statues a "glamorous new look," according to The Telegraph. The new waxworks replaced the old ones of Prince William and Kate that were first showcased at the museum two years ago.

"The process takes a good couple of months," Matthew Clarkson of Madame Tussauds told The Telegraph. "Their in-house stylist team looked through a lot of research material and chose a suitable dress."

Clarkson told The Telegraph that he believed that the couple "will be thrilled with the results."

Here's what the original wax figures looked like:

And here's the new and improved versions:

"[Prince William and Kate Middleton] are fantastically popular with domestic and our overseas visitors as well," Clarkson continued. "Along with the royal family, they complement that whole package of royals in Madame Tussauds."

The Madame Tussauds makeovers included outfit changes: The prince is now sporting a traditional Gieves and Hawkes tuxedo, while his wife is dressed in a full-length turquoise silk jersey gown by Issa London. The facelift for each new figure cost roughly $258,000, E! News reported.

The figures are placed in what is called the royal zone, next to the Queen, the Prince of Wales, and Prince Harry, who is also expected to undergo a makeover soon, according to the U.K. Express.

"After two years in the attraction, it seemed the perfect time to give them a glamorous makeover," Clarkson said.
