Lupita Nyong’o twirled on the Cannes red carpet Wednesday, sending her flowing mint-green dress spinning around her and, according to some, topping the best-dressed list instantly.
Nyong’o retained her status on top of the
best-dressed list, according to People magazine, “killing the style competition at the Cannes Film Festival’s Opening Ceremony Wednesday in a ‘grasshopper green’ gown, which happens to be another sentimental dedication to Africa.”

Fashion-wise, at least,” Elle magazine raved.
The Gucci dress — and Nyong’o — was the talk of the Internet, even as other stunning looks from Cannes stars filtered onto social media.
Nyong’o also seemed to love the dress, posting one of her twirling photos to Instagram:
