Lindsey Vonn Teased About Ex-Boyfriend Tiger Woods With Joke at ESPYs

Lindsey Vonn was teased by ESPY host Joel McHale over her breakup with Tiger Woods during Wednesday night's telecast of the awards show, but the professional skier simply played it off.

Vonn, 30, announced her breakup with Woods on Facebook in May, leaving her wide open as a target for McHale.

“Many are calling Jordan Spieth the new Tiger Woods,” McHale said in his opening remarks Wednesday, referring to the 21-year-old golf star, who is ranked second in the world currently. “Which is great news for golf and terrible news for the future Mrs. Jordan Spieth.”

The camera then panned around to Vonn, who is shown laughing. She played along, making sad faces and giving a sassy shrug and some side-eye to the camera.

“Is Lindsey behind me right now?” McHale asked on stage, referring to the giant screen projecting Vonn’s image behind him. “She wasn’t married to him! Is she mad?”

On Facebook, Vonn said her and Woods’ relationship ended “mutually,” but some rumors have suggested the breakup was due to his cheating, according to Radar Online.

Vonn was nominated for the best female athlete at the ESPYs, but the honor went to MMA fighter Ronda Rousey instead. Vonn tweeted her congratulations to the winners after the event.



Olympic decathlon champion Bruce Jenner, now known as Caitlyn, accepted the Arthur Ashe Courage Award in her first major public appearance since transitioning to a woman, Fox News reported.

“Trans people deserve something vital. They deserve your respect,” Jenner said. “So for the people out there wondering what this is all about, whether it’s about courage or controversy or publicity, it’s about what happens from here. It’s not just about one person. It’s about thousands of people.”
