Lindsay Lohan’s latest #MeToo comments have resulted in backlash against her; in a British interview, she said speaking out makes women “look weak.”
During an interview with The Times, Lohan said, “I’m going to really hate myself for saying this, but I think by women speaking against all these things, it makes them look weak when they are very strong women.”
Lohan said she doesn’t have any #MeToo stories herself and that she believes sexual misconduct should be reported right away.
“If it happens at that moment, you discuss it at that moment,” she told The Times. “You make it a real thing by making it a police report.”
The actress said she is “supportive of women” and that “everyone goes through their own experiences,” but also said that some of the women coming forward with stories about sexual misconduct against them “do it for the attention.”
Twitter users were livid about Lohan’s comments.
