Lauren Tannehill, the wife of Miami Dolphins Quarterback Ryan Tannehill, accidentally left her semiautomatic AR-15 rifle in the trunk of a rented car in Florida last week.
The rifle was found by Judith Fleissig, a 58-year-old woman from Rochester, N.Y., who was visiting South Florida with her daughter. After informing E-Z Rent-A-Car of her discovery, the unidentified woman drove the vehicle to a nearby police station where she turned the firearm over to authorities.

"We got out of the car, we were kind of freaked out,"
Fleissig told the Sun Sentinel. "I didn’t want to touch it."
The rifle was registered to Ryan Tannehill and no crime was committed, according to the local Sheriff's department.
"Though dangerous if it would have landed in the wrong hands, it’s not criminal," Broward sheriff's spokeswoman Keyla ConcepciĂłn told the Sun Sentinel. "They simply forgot it."
A Dolphins spokesperson on Wednesday issued a statement that said
Ryan and Lauren Tannehill view the situation as a "personal matter," Fox Sports reported.
According to a football league source, the couple immediately called the rental car company upon realizing that they had left the bag in the car. However, they reportedly did not disclose the contents of the bag.
Tannehill, who married the Dolphins quarterback in 2012, is a model and was featured on HBO's "Hard Knocks," a reality sports documentary television series.
The couple enjoys going to shooting ranges together.
The AR-15 rifle was worth approximately $2,000, according to sheriff authorities. It was not reported whether or not the rifle was returned to the Tannehills.
