Lamar Odom and Sabrina Parr are going their separate ways. The pair were engaged for nearly a year, but on Wednesday Parr revealed that she called things off and explained that Odom "desperately" needed help.
"Y'all know I'm honest and transparent so I have to be the first to let you guys know that I am no longer engaged to Lamar," she wrote on her Instagram Story, per People. "This has been a difficult decision for me to make but it is the best for myself and my children. Lamar has some things that he alone has to work through," she continued, adding that she loves him "dearly" but is "no longer able to be by his side while he seeks the help he so desperately needs."
Odom was previously married to Khloé Kardashian for several years but they officially divorced in 2015. The former NBA player's drug addiction played a role in their split. In his 2019 memoir, "Darkness to Light," Omar revealed that he even threatened to kill Khloé during a drug-induced rage.
He recalled sitting in his "man cave" getting high on cocaine and ecstasy when a concerned Kardashian knocked on the door
"I opened it suddenly and grabbed her forcefully by the shoulders, which frightened her," Lamar wrote, per People. "'What the f— are you doing?' I screamed, out of my mind. 'You trying to embarrass me in front of my friends? I’ll f—— kill you! You don’t know what I’m capable of!'"
His turning point came shortly after splitting with Khloé when, during a four-day bender, he almost died in a Las Vegas brothel, according to "Good Morning America." He entered a rehab clinic in 2016 and had reportedly been off drugs since.
