"La Viuda Negra," which translates to "The Black Widow" in English, is a dramatic Spanish-language series based on the life of former drug lord Griselda Blanco, aka "The Cocaine Godmother," that garnered 5.8 million viewers on its Feb. 23 debut.

The world premiere of the Spanish series — simulcast on Univision, UniMas and Galavision — made Univision the No. 2 broadcast network in the 10 p.m. EST time slot, ahead of ABC and CBS, among adults in the 18-34 and 18-49 age categories. The show was also the third most-watched program on all of broadcast television, according to tvbythenumbers.com.

Mexican actress Ana Serradilla stars in the show about Blanco, who presided over the Miami drug trade in the '70s and early '80s. The "ripped-straight-from-the-headlines" story will air at 10 p.m. Monday through Friday on UniMas, with full episodes in English available on CC3.

Serradilla, 35, also appeared in nine episodes of the show, "Drenaje Profundo," in 2010.

She was a main member of the Medellín Cartel, and a big fan of the film, "The Godfather," even naming her youngest son Michael Corleone, according to the Latin Times. She was assassinated on Sept. 3, 2012, at 69 years old.
