The notoriously bad Kit Kat biter of a boyfriend went ahead and put a ring on it amid cries for his girlfriend to dump him.
On July 4, Evan Wilt got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend Haley Byrd by holding up a ring contained inside a 3-D printed Kit Kat bar, The Best Life reported.
It may seem like a strange proposal but there is a very sweet back story.
It all began when Byrd tweeted a photo of a Kit Kat bar that Wilt had taken a massive bite out of, straight down the middle, which goes against the traditional way of snapping a piece off.
“’I don’t think I’ve ever had a Kit Kat before,’ my boyfriend remarks before doing THIS,” she said in the post.
The tweet went viral and resulted in a call from users for Byrd to leave her man. Clearly eating a Kit Kat by taking a massive chomp out of the bar is a deal breaker. Even CNN anchor Jake Tapper had something to say about the ordeal.
“Break up with him at once,” Tapper tweeted.
Byrd cooled the situation with a tweet in which she said, Kit Kat crime aside, her boyfriend was a keeper.
We thought that was the last to be heard of the bad Kit Kat biter of a boyfriend but he has once again become an internet sensation after proposing to Byrd with a ring and a fake Kit Kat.
“He still doesn’t know how to eat a Kit Kat,” Byrd said in a tweet with photos of the ring.
Kit Kat was behind the proposal, and even assisted in having the 3-D model printed for Wilt.
“We were happy to give him a break and help with his proposal!” the candy-maker tweeted.
To top it all off, the couple celebrated with a giant Kit Kat cake that said, “Twitter may have said break up, but we’re glad you didn’t,” Best Life noted.
