Kim Richards, a star on Bravo's “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” has returned to rehab less than two weeks after acting out at
daughter's wedding in Mexico, two sources told E! Online this week.
“She's doing okay, a lot better than she had been,” one source said, adding that Richards has been in rehab for a few days.
Guests at her daughter Brooke's wedding in Mexico last month claim the reality star was under the influence of
either drugs or alcohol, TMZ reported. She reportedly acted out so badly — blowing up on her daughter at one point — that her sober coach quit, according to the celebrity gossip site.
This is the second rehab stint in as many months for Richards, who entered a treatment center after she was arrested in April for public intoxication and battery against a police officer. Sources said the rehab facility she is in now is different from the one she checked into after her arrest, E! Online noted.
What happened in the days prior to Richards' latest rehab stay is unclear, friend and "Housewives" co-star
Brandi Glanville said in her latest "Brandi Glanville Unfiltered" podcast.
“We talked before she left [for the wedding in Mexico] and she was in a good place,” Glanville said. “I've texted her since she's been gone. I haven't heard back, and I'm just praying for her. She's not returning my texts and she always gets back to me.”
Richards appeared on “Dr. Phil” following her arrest to discuss her struggle with sobriety.
“I'm a very strong person, and I have been sober.” Richards said in the interview, according to E! Online. “I haven't been working a program. Living through a season on a show, sometimes it's hard to just get through it. The fans are really hard on me.”
The exchange grew contentious when Richards, believing her three children were present at the interview to stage an intervention, stormed off. She checked herself into the first rehab facility days later.
“Kim went to rehab finally because she got arrested, she humiliated her kids, and she wants to
avoid jail,” a source told People magazine at the time.
