Kim Richards, star of the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," was arrested early Thursday morning at the Polo Lounge inside the Beverly Hills Hotel for public intoxication. Cops had to drag her from the ladies' restroom.
Richards was taken into custody in handcuffs by Beverly Hills police who were called to the scene after the reality show star reportedly became "combative" and refused to leave the lounge after harassing customers,
reported E! News.
The former Disney child actress was confronted by police and arrested about 1:30 a.m. Officers had to remove Richards from the women's restroom after she requested to use it and then refused to come out.
"Cops were called to the scene and we're told they had to 'drag her out' of the bathroom,"
reported TMZ. "Richards – who has struggled with substance abuse in the past – was reportedly belligerent, slurring her speech and reeked of booze. We're told Kim was taken to a nearby jail – where she allegedly kicked a police officer."
Richards was eventually charged with trespass, resisting arrest, battery on a police officer and drunk in public. She was released after receiving a citation and will appear in court on June 10 to answer to the charges.
Richards' sister, Kyle, who also stars on "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," pushed back on a
Radar Online story that she has refused to talk with her sister since her arrest. According to Radar Online, the two had been fighting with each other since Kim Richards' dog bit Kyle Richards' daughter on the hand.
"Kyle has been saying that Kim needs help for months and she wasn't shocked when she learned she got arrested," a source told Radar Online. "She wants their sister Kathy (Hilton) to help convince Kim to get treatment and to face her issues. She isn't talking to Kim right now."
Kyle Richards, though, went to Twitter on Thursday to complain about the Radar Online story.
