KFC has published a steamy Colonel Sanders romance novel called "Tender Wings of Desire" as part of a Mother's day promotion for its $20 Fill Up meal.
The 96-page novella features the Colonel as a sailor who meets "Lady Madeline Parker" in Victorian England. At the moment, "Tender Wings of Desire" is available as a free ebook on Amazon.
Although the story doesn’t get too explicit, it does have some steamy sequences.
Describing the Madeline’s reaction to their first kiss, the book reads, “She felt as if she were a woman on fire, feverish in the best way possible, and something seemed to take her over when he deepened the kiss.”
As the affair continues, the novella reads, “To call their affair passionate was an understatement. ... Their eyes would meet the instant he walked into the tavern, as if they could feel each other. In that instant, a spark would light and quickly grow into a raging inferno deep within them.”
KFC says its sales go up 40 percent on Mother’s Day, its best-selling day of the year, CNN Money reported.
The idea behind the novella is to give Mom a night off from cooking with the $20 Fill Up meal and an escape from her responsibilities with the story.
So far, "Tender Wings of Desire" has six five-star reviews on Amazon, including one that called it "finger lickin' good" and one that said it was the "Fowlest book of 2017."
“The only thing better than being swept away by the deliciousness of our Extra Crispy Chicken is being swept away by Harland Sanders himself,” said George Felix, director of advertising for KFC U.S, CNBC reported.
