Katy Perry earned another music biz Diamond – 10 million sales and streams – for her hit single “Roar,” making the pop star the first artist in history to claim three of the Recording Industry Association of America certifications.

The announcement came on Thursday, when the RIAA congratulated the singing sensation on Facebook.

“BREAKING: Gold & Platinum History Made!!! Congratulations Katy Perry. First artist EVER to earn THREE Diamond songs!”

“Roar” joins Perry’s hits “Dark Horse” and “Firework” in surpassing the 10-million threshold counting song sales and streams in the U.S, noted Variety.

Cary Sherman, chairman and CEO of the RIAA, said they were thrilled to recognize Perry as the first artist to earn three Diamond Song Awards.

“Katy has a singular track record of notable Gold & Platinum achievements, and this triple Diamond milestone is now forever etched in our program’s history. Only 14 songs have earned Diamond status to date, and Katy owns three of them — what a remarkable achievement and testament to a ground-breaking artist.”

It’s one more accolade Perry can add to her successful career.  She first gained attention after her single, “I Kissed a Girl," topped charts in 2008.

With that song's success, her debut album, One of the Boys, made it into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, said Biography.

Perry became an overnight sensation, and her music career has featured numerous successes.

However, it is her raw authenticity that fans are drawn to.

Audiences were captivated as the breakdown of her marriage to British comedian, Russell Brand, unfolded in her DVD, “Katy Perry: The Movie”

Since then, Perry has been candid and open about her emotions and struggles.

Earlier this month, in a raw interview, she opened up to Dr. Siri Singh about the overwhelming pressures of being a popstar and a female in the public eye.

Yet, she maintains an upbeat demeanour.

Taking to Twitter, Perry recently shared a sentimental post with fans:

“thank you for still giving me the platform to sing, dance & feel with you around the world I pray I never take this job for granted”
