Katie Rees, a former Miss Nevada, was arrested Tuesday on drug charges after the troubled beauty and her boyfriend were stopped in Las Vegas during a traffic stop.
It was the second time Rees had been hit with drug charges in three months,
according to the Las Vegas Sun.
Rees, 31, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Kevin "DJ Kulprit" Sims when authorities stopped the vehicle about 4:45 p.m. along Las Vegas Boulevard South for allegedly speeding and failure to signal.
Authorities ordered Sims and Rees out of the car after smelling marijuana while interviewing Sims and questioned him about the presence of drugs and weapons in the rented vehicle.
According to the arrest report,
said KLAS-TV, police found narcotics paraphernalia that included rolling papers and pipes, a canister containing marijuana, a small baggie of methamphetamine, a Xanaz pill and an Oxycotin pill – all inside a bag Rees said belonged to her.
Rees reportedly admitted to police that she had smoke methamphetamine earlier, noted KLAS-TV.
The Sun said Rees told police she and Sims have been dating for 10 months.
In July, Rees was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, sale of a controlled substance, and two counts of conspiracy to violate the uniform controlled substances,
reported the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
A criminal comlaint charged that Rees sold methamphetamine to a person last Sept. 22 and she was found with 5.3 grams of methamphetamine a month later, noted the newspaper. Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Joe Sciscento had issued a $50,000 arrest warrant for Rees when the criminal complaint was filed.
The Review-Journal said Rees pleaded guilty in 2012 to one count of possession of a drug not for interstate commerce in a deal in whic Las Vegas prosecutors dismissed drug paraphernalia and marijuana charges.
Rees had her title of Miss Nevada USA in 2007 stripped from her when photos of her at a Florida nightclub surfaced.
