Katharine McPhee is pregnant! The 36-year-old singer and actress has finally confirmed what many have suspected for weeks already. McPhee made the news official on Tuesday by sharing photos of her baby bump on Instagram. In the image, McPhee is wearing a blue coat and white slippers. She is cradling her expanding belly and smiling at the camera.
Rumors of McPhee's pregnancy were sparked in October when sources revealed to People that the star and her husband, David Foster, 71, were expecting their first child together. The couple did not confirm the news but McPhee hinted that she was indeed expecting in an Instagram story the following day.
"I just came home and opened this gift from Aperol Spritz, which for those of you who don't know ... is one of my favorite drinks and it reminds you of being in Capri," she said in the video, per People. "Thank you, Aperol Spritz," she added. "I won't be drinking this anytime soon — wink, wink — but I'm very excited."
This will be McPhee's first child. Foster is already father to daughters Sara, 39, Erin, 38, and Jordan, 34, Allison, 50, and Amy, 46 from previous marriages and relationships.
McPhee met Foster in 2006, when he mentored her on season 5 of "American Idol." They tied the knot in 2019 in an intimate ceremony in London at the Church of Saint Yeghiche in South Kensington. The couple celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary in June.
"A year ago today I married the love of my life," McPhee wrote to Instagram. "Thank you for always loving me and inspiring me in all aspects of my life. I love you. Here’s to the future! (Oh and happy anniversary to the other love of my life - this dreamy dress!"
