Kate Gosselin has been found in contempt of court for filming four of her underage children for a television series without proper work permits, according to DailyMailTV.

The 44-year-old, who gained reality TV fame on TLC’s "Jon and Kate Plus 8," was ordered to pay $1,500 in legal fees to her ex-husband Jon Gosselin after going against a court order requiring the legal paperwork to be in place before filming of the October special commenced, the DailyMailTV reported.

Jon originally took the matter to court when Kate failed to adhere to a previous court order that stated she was allowed to go ahead with filming her children provided she and the TLC provide a full filming schedule to him.

In the meantime, the Department of Labor had allegedly denied filming permits for the children. No permits were issued but this did not stop Kate and the network from proceeding with the episode.

Alexis, Aaden, Leah and Joel, all 15, appeared on camera for the episode without the legal paperwork and Kate was ordered to cover the legal fees and placed under strict conditions for any future filming. "The court agreed with me, they have given me back my rights. The guardian ad litem said filming wasn't in the best interests of my children, the judge said it wasn't in their best interests, but Kate went ahead and did it anyway," Jon said. "But this order now puts her on notice that she has to do everything by the book. She can still film ‘Kate Plus 8’ or ‘Kate Plus Date,’ or whatever she wants, but she has to go to court to get a court order to get my written consent first. Then she has to give me every single piece of information before they film."

Four other children shared by the former couple, Mady and Cara, both 19, and Hannah and Collin, both 15, did not appear in the episode. Hannah and Collin were not filmed because they live with their father, who was awarded custody last year.

Commenting on the saga, Jon said he did not think Kate and TLC would ever film again.

"If they do film then Kate has agreed with this order, it was signed by a judge - so if she doesn't comply, if she films the kids without permission again, she will go to jail," he said. "I really just want to get my kids off the television period."
