Kanye West is having a hard time coping with his split from Kim Kardashian. Last year it emerged that Kardashian was planning to divorce West and the rapper is struggling to come to terms with it, sources revealed to People.
"Kanye is not doing well," an insider told the outlet in its latest edition. "He is anxious and very sad. He knows that the marriage is over, and there's nothing that can be done right now. He also knows what he is losing in Kim."
Things have reportedly been strained between the couple for quite a while. In July, Kanye made the shocking revelation that he had been considering divorcing Kardashian since November 2018, according to a report by People at the time. Days later insiders confirmed that the pair had been discussing divorce for several weeks.
"They are just not on the same page when it comes to their future as a family. And Kim is okay with it," another source told People.
Although Kardashian has not officially filed for divorce, people with knowledge of the situation say the split is imminent.
"There is very little hope of reconciliation," the first source said. "It would have to be a miracle. But Kanye does believe in miracles."
Although things are strained between West and Kardashian, she still wants her estranged husband to be part of their children's lives. They share daughters North, 7, and Chicago, 3, and sons Saint, 5, and Psalm, 1.
"Kim has made it clear that Kanye can talk to his children anytime he wants," the source explained. "She has never threatened to keep him from the kids. She only requires that he is not going to damage them. Kanye can FaceTime the kids anytime he wants. He hasn't been great about that, but everyone is encouraging him to do it."
The source added that Kardashian did not want to hurt West, but things were not working out between them.
"She just knows she can't be married to him anymore," the insider said. "He is very aware that she has been a good wife. He still loves her very much. But he understands."
