Rumors have been swirling that the "SexyBack" singer and his wife, Jessica Biel, welcomed their second child into the world and now Timberlake has confirmed the news in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres.
"His name is Phineas and he's awesome," he said in a sneak peek that was shared on social media. The interview was to air on DeGeneres’ show Monday. "And he's so cute. And nobody's sleeping. But we're thrilled. We're thrilled and couldn't be happier, very grateful."
The couple, who share five-year-old son Silas, are known to be private about their lives and tried to keep Biel's pregnancy a secret from the public for as long as possible. During her interview with Timberlake, DeGeneres recalled how they eventually announced the news to her.
"I think we were face timing and you said, hey you want to know a secret and then Jessica walked in and you put your hand on her stomach and you were like, 'we're having another baby,'" she said.
"Yeah, you're one of the first people outside of our immediate family that we told," Timberlake replied.
Timberlake's former NSYNC bandmate, Lance Bass, first sparked the rumors of the birth of their second child after letting it slip to Entertainment Tonight.
"The baby is cute of course, it's Justin and Jessica!" Bass said, adding that he had seen photos of the newborn.
Timberlake and Biel, who met in 2007 at a mutual friend's birthday party and tied the knot five years later in Italy, did not confirm the news until now.
