'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' Teaser Trailer Is Really Cute

By    |   Wednesday, 22 November 2017 05:57 PM EST

The first teaser trailer for "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" is here and it shows six seconds of Chris Pratt petting a baby raptor.

The sequel to 2015's "Jurassic World" will focus on Pratt's character, "ex-military man Owen Grady" who "encounters terrifying new breeds of gigantic dinosaurs," according to Nerdist

The previous film, which built on the success of "Jurassic Park" and "The Lost World," earned $1.67 billion worldwide and is currently the fourth-grossing movie in history.

Screenwriter and executive producer Colin Trevorrow unveiled the "Fallen Kingdom" footage Wednesday. He said previously at Sitges Film Festival in Spain that the dinosaurs in the film will be a parallel to some of the mistreatment animals receive in today’s society, including experimentation, housing in zoos, and the weaponizing of dinosaurs, Variety reported

Jeff Goldblum will return for this installment as mathematician Ian Malcolm, who figured out in “Jurassic Park” that the original experiment would end in disaster. Cast newcomers include Justice Smith, James Cromwell, and Toby Jones. B.D. Wong will return as the scientist who modified the dinosaurs.

"Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" is being directed by J.A. Bayona, a Spanish director with horror leanings.

Twitter users are looking forward to the film. The movie releases June 22.
