Josh Duggar has checked into a faith-based rehab clinic for sex addiction, his family reported.
"We are so thankful for the outpouring of love, care and prayers for our family during this most difficult situation with Josh. As parents we are so deeply grieved by our son’s decisions and actions," the family wrote on their blog,
DuggarFamily.com.
"His wrong choices have deeply hurt his precious wife and children and have negatively affected so many others. He has also brought great insult to the values and faith we hold dear. Yesterday Josh checked himself into a long-term treatment center. For him it will be a long journey toward wholeness and recovery."
The Duggar family recently had their reality TV show, "19 Kids and Counting," canceled after Josh's past molestation incidents that occurred when he was a teenager came to light.
Just this month, the cyber hack of infidelity website Ashely Madison revealed that Josh had multiple accounts with the service. He soon admitted to cheating on his wife, Anna, as well as a porn addiction, saying in a statement that he was "ashamed of the double life that I have been living."
MSN Wonderwall reported that adult film star Danica Dillon has come forward, claiming it was she who had the affair with Josh. She went as far as to say Josh "got violent" during their encounters, however Josh has not confirmed the affair.
"We pray that in this he comes to complete repentance and sincere change. In the meantime, we will be offering our love, care and devoted support to Anna and our grandchildren as she also receives counsel and help for her own heart and future," the family said, concluding its statement.
"During this time we continue to look to God — He is our rock and comfort. We ask for your continued prayers for our entire family."
