Filmmaker Jordan Peele has settled on a cast for "Us," his new feature film, and announced a projected release date.
The Universal Pictures epic will be headlined by Lupita Nyong’o, Elisabeth Moss, Winston Duke, Tim Heidecker, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Anna Diop, Deadline reported.
Peele became the first black screenwriter to win an Academy Award when he won last year for Best Original Screenplay for “Get Out.”
Peele will write, direct, and produce "Us" for Monkeypaw Productions; production duties will be shared with Sean McKittrick and Jason Blumm. MonkeyPaw signed up with Universal in the spring, and this will be their first collaboration.
Production on “Us” is already underway and will reportedly be shot entirely in California. Universal set a March 15, 2019, release date.
Completing the cast are Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex, Madison Curry, Cali Sheldon, and Noelle Sheldon.
Details about the film’s plot have remained under wraps, but that didn't stop Twitter users from getting excited about "Us."
