Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl says the Senate and the House are working on different plans to raise the debt ceiling and avoid default,

according to
Politico.
“The country will not default. Whether or not there are savings achieved in the process remains open to question,” Kyl said on ABC’s “This Week.”
Kyl said the Senate is currently working on a “McConnell-Reid” backup plan if the “Cut, Cap, and Balance” legislation, which includes a constitutional amendment to balance the budget, is passed in the House but fails in the Senate.
