Comedian John Mulaney's estranged wife, Anna Marie Tendler, checked into a rehab center for emotional reasons shortly after her husband attended rehab for alcohol and drug addiction, it has emerged.

Gossip columnist AJ Benza first shared the news, claiming on his podcast, "Fame, Ain't It A B***h," that the textile artist went to therapy at Silver Hill Hospital in Connecticut.

Citing a source, Page Six confirmed that Tendler was in rehab "for emotional, and eating, disorders."

Tendler did not, however, reveal her husband's issues while there.

"She didn’t talk at all about that, we were all on our own journey of recovery," the insider added. "But it is clear she suffered during their marriage."

It has been a tough few weeks for Tendler. Last week news broke that she and Mulaney were getting divorced. A spokesperson confirmed the split in a statement to Page Six.

"John will not have any further comment as he continues to focus on his recovery and getting back to work," the statement read.

Tendler said via her own spokesperson that she was "heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage," adding, "I wish him support and success as he continues his recovery."

The split comes amid rumors that Mulaney had attended a strip club and gave his number to dancers.

"He was definitely drinking and definitely never mentioned a wife," a Reddit user called meetmeforkisses wrote of an alleged incident. "Did not hesitate to give me his number to meet outside of the club. He was always respectful to me so I could never call him a predator or anything, but I felt so awful when I found out he was married."

The same Reddit user explained that she had worked in a Manhattan strip club for several years and "met and hooked up with Mulaney on more than one occasion."

She claimed he went by the name "Jack."

Mulaney entered rehab last December for 60 days. The "Saturday Night Live" alum relapsed with cocaine and alcohol amid the coronavirus pandemic and decided to check himself into a rehabilitation facility in Pennsylvania, according to reports.

Mulaney discussed his addiction to Esquire in a cover story last year, explaining that he began drinking at age 13 "for attention." He then started to dabble with illegal and prescription drugs. He decided to get sober after a 2005 bender that made him realize he had lost control.

"I went on a bender that weekend that was just, like, fading in and out of a movie," he recalled. "It was just crazy."

Mulaney said he realized he was "out of control."

"And I thought to myself, I don’t like this guy anymore. I’m not rooting for him," he continued. Mulaney quit drinking alcohol and, weeks later, taking drugs. He did not enter a program but reportedly decided to do it himself by going cold turkey.
