Jimmy Kimmel, Kacey Musgraves Talk Via Futuristic Hologram (Video)

By    |   Friday, 07 November 2014 09:33 AM EST

In a bizarre display of futuristic technology, Jimmy Kimmel interviewed country music star Kacey Musgraves via hologram Wednesday night from Hollywood while she was at the Country Music Awards in Nashville.

Musgraves, who won Song of the Year and performed with country music legend Loretta Lynn at the CMAs, gave Kimmel a virtual high-five and picked his nose while the talk show host virtually patted down her teased hair for the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" segment.

"I'm feeling very futuristic right now," Musgraves, 26, said of the appearance. "It's crazy."

The country music songstress then told Kimmel about her performance with Loretta Lynn and her minor wardrobe malfunction.

"I can't even tell you what that meant to me," Musgraves said. "I'm such a huge fan of hers. And you know what? It was crazy. My panties fell off right before. Literally, I'm not even kidding, they were on the stick-on kind . . . they fell off, they were dangling, I had to rip 'em off — my whole band saw me — and I had to throw 'em to the side, and then out she comes. I don't even know. I'm here now. I don't know where they are. I have no idea."

Kimmel then told Musgraves that her "big" hair-do was trending on Twitter.
