"Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek has a book on the way and fans can expect an insider's view into the life of the revered star.
Trebek's debut memoir, "The Answer Is… : Reflections on My Life," will be released on July 21, one day before his 80th birthday, by publisher Simon & Schuster.
"I want people to know a little more about the person they have been cheering on for the past year," Trebek writes of his battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, according to Good Morning America. Since revealing the diagnosis in March 2019, Trebek has received a wealth of support from fans and celebrities alike.
The memoir will explore this, as well as various other topics presented in chapters posed as questions. The theme is structured around the iconic game show which Trebek has hosted since 1984.
The book offers a glimpse into the decades that have defined his career and made him a household name. There are also dozens of never-before-seen photos that fans can peruse.
"Today, when there is so much uncertainty and turmoil in the world, Alex Trebek is a beacon of stability and positivity," said Sean Manning, executive editor at Simon & Schuster.
"This wise, charming and inspired book is further evidence why he has long been considered one of the most beloved and respected figures in entertainment."
Since announcing his cancer diagnosis in March 2019, Trebek has done his best to keep life as normal as possible while battling the disease.
At first, things seemed to be going well and weeks after he began treatment, he revealed he was in near-remission but a sudden change in his condition sent him back for more chemotherapy.
Despite this he has remained positive and determined to fight his cancer every step of the way.
