Jennifer Lopez has admitted that she and fiance Alex Rodriquez underwent therapy during their time in quarantine. Speaking in an interview with Allure, the 51-year-old star explained that they, like the rest of the world, experienced anxiety at the start of the pandemic. So they sought counselling.
"It has been actually really good," she said of lockdown. "We got to work on ourselves. We did therapy. I think it was really helpful for us in our relationship."
Lopez also spoke of her wedding, which had to be put on hold as the coronavirus spread.
"It was a big deal," she said. "We had been planning for months and months and months, and it was overseas. Maybe that wasn’t the right time,” she added. "You start thinking of all of these things — how everything has its kind of perfect, divine moment."
In December Lopez told Andy Cohen during an appearance on his radio show that she had been contemplating not marrying Rodriguez.
"We've talked about (not getting married) for sure," Lopez said in response to a question about Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's decision to not get married, per Daily Mail.
Lopez explained that, with all the uncertainty in the world, they were confronted with the notion that the wedding "is maybe not going to happen."
"But the same thing with like the Goldie thing and Kurt, you think, do you have to? Should we?" she continued.
"It just kind of gave us a moment to pause and think about it. And I think it's something that maybe is still important to us, but there's no rush, you know, there's no rush, it'll happen when it happens."
