Jed Allen, a British Wolverine wannabe who allegedly murdered three of his family members, was found dead in a wooded area near Oxford on Monday.
Authorities found the body of the 21-year-old "X-Men" fan about 13 miles north of Didcot, where he reportedly stabbed his mother, her boyfriend, and his 6-year-old half-sister to
death on Saturday, the New York Daily News reported.
“Members of the public reported finding the body of a man in a wooded area in Oxford, in Marston Road,” Thames Valley Police Detective Superintendent Chris Ward said in a statement. “This is an area that had not been previously searched by police as a result of this investigation.”
While still pending a formal identification, detectives are “satisfied” that the body found is Allen’s. It's not yet clear how he died.
"While the investigation into this matter will continue, I am not seeking anybody else in connection with the offense," Ward said. "I would like to offer my condolences to all of the families of the victims in this tragic case."
Police released CCTV images showing Allen walking through an Oxford railway station and purchasing a bottle of water
after the murders, according to The Telegraph. He was reportedly last seen walking towards Oxford University Parks, where he worked.
Before the homicidal rampage, Allen reportedly posted several rambling videos online and dozens of photos on social media describing his interest with the comic book hero Wolverine.
One image shows Allen posing as the superhero with sideburns and serrated steak knives attached to his fingers like Wolverine’s claws.
