Country star Jason Aldean's wife, Brittany Aldean, is not backing down from critics who have slammed her for voicing her support for Donald Trump during the 2020 presidential election. Taking to Instagram stories, the celebrity stood up for Trump and fellow Republicans after coming under fire by Joe Biden supporters.
Brittany shared a video of herself standing next to an American flag, wearing a sweater with Trump's name on it.
"STILL MY PRESIDENT," she captioned the clip, as reported by Fox News. She also posted a note addressing the backlash that arose from posts shared days earlier, as the results for the election were trickling in.
"I WILL CONTINUE TO SPEAK. FOR THE PEOPLE THAT MESSAGE ME AND AREN’T ABLE (FOR FEAR OF LOSING BUSINESS OR FRIENDS) IT IS DISGUSTING TO ME THAT 'FREEDOM OF SPEECH' APPLIES TO EVERYONE BUT REPUBLICANS," she wrote.
Brittany faced criticism after sharing a photo of their son, Memphis, covering his face with his hands.
"Me too, Memphis… me too," she captioned the image. "How I feel watching this election."
The post came amid reports projecting Biden to win the election. Biden supporters were quick to taunt Brittany for her political views.
"That’s how I felt when I found out you’re a Trump supporter," one Instagram user wrote.
"can’t wait until trump is out," another replied with a kissing face emoji.
"JOE BIDEN 2020," several more wrote.
Other Instagram users argued over Trump’s claims of voter fraud.
Brittany responded by sharing a video of Memphis singing "Jesus loves me" in the car.
"Since a lot of y’all need JESUS, here ya go," she captioned the video.
Brittany also shared a photo of their daughter, Navy Rome.
"I’m gonna keep posting cute pics until everyone stops arguing on my page. Lol (that’d be a lot of cute pics) but forreal y’all... just look at the little sweet face and smile," she wrote.
