Janet Jackson welcomed her first baby into the world at age 50, giving birth to a son Tuesday.
The Grammy-winning singer and sister of the late superstar Michael Jackson postponed her "Unbreakable" World Tour in April, first giving speculation that she may be pregnant by her husband, millionaire Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana, People magazine noted.
"Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world," a Jackson representative told People in a statement. "Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably."
Jackson and Al Mana have been married since 2012.
Jackson's father Joe Jackson posted a congratulations note on his website Wednesday with photos of him and his daughter.
"Congratulations to my daughter Janet Jackson on the birth of my grandson," Joe Jackson wrote. "Making me a grandfather again! Wishing you all the love and happiness a father could wish a daughter."
Her brother Jermaine Jackson, former member of the iconic Jackson 5, posted on Instagram.
Sister LaToya Jackson added her congratulations as well on Twitter.
Growing up in a musical family, Jackson's singing career dates back her 1982 self-titled debut album when she was 16, according to Billboard magazine. Her third studio album "Control" in 1986 made her a star, with five singles off it landing in the top five of the Billboard charts. The album also landed at No. 1.
Her last studio album, 2015's "Unbreakable" also spent time at No. 1 of the Billboard 200 chart as well, noted the magazine.
