Jan Hooks, the former "Saturday Night Live" star who worked on the show with many of its great comedians, died Thursday. She was 57.
TMZ reported Hooks died of a serious illness.
Hooks, who more recently was on "30 Rock," was on "SNL" from 1986 to 1991, working beside Chris Farley, Phil Hartman, Dana Carvey, Mike Myers and Dennis Miller. She also starred on "3rd Rock from the Sun," "Designing Women," and "The Simpsons."
Hooks was well-known for her impressions of Sinead O’Connor and Hillary Clinton, and for playing half of the show’s Sweeney sisters.
Stars and fans alike went online to mourn Hooks’ passing.
