Actor Jamie Foxx, through his attorney, called claims that he struck a woman in the face with his penis when she refused to perform oral sex on him 16 years ago an “absurd” lie during an interview with TMZ Wednesday.
The woman told police last week that the incident occurred at Foxx's Las Vegas home in 2002.
Although Nevada’s three-year statute of limitations has long since expired, Las Vegas police told TMZ they still consider the matter an open investigation.
The actor, speaking through his lawyer, Allison Hart of Lavely & Singer, flat-out denied the incident ever happened.
"Jamie emphatically denies that this incident ever occurred, and he will be filing a report with the Las Vegas Police Department against the woman for filing a false police report against him,” she said, TMZ reported. “The first time [Jamie] became aware of this woman's absurd claims about an incident that supposedly occurred 16 years ago was when TMZ contacted his representatives [Tuesday] about this story."
Hart also called into question the timing of the accuser’s claims.
"The alleged incident was not reported to law enforcement in 2002, or at any other time in the last 16 years until last Friday because the incident never happened," Hart said.
On that issue, Foxx’s accuser claims the recent #MeToo movement prompted her to come forward with her more-than-a-decade-old allegation.
