James Hetfield: Adele's 'Crazy for You' Cover Storms YouTube

By    |   Monday, 18 May 2015 11:19 AM EDT

Metallica's James Hetfield cover of Adele's "Crazy for You," with his daughter Cali doing the vocals, was posted on YouTube over the weekend and has been viewed nearly 200,000 times.

Hetfield was performing with fellow rocker Sammy Hager and others during the Acoutics-4-A-Cure benefit concert at The Masonic in San Francisco on Friday. Money raised during the concert went to support the Pediatric Cancer Program at the University of California, San Francisco Benioff Children's Hospital.

Hetfield appeared all smiles as he played guitar while his 16-year-old daughter sang in front of a cheering crowd.

"Hetfield is noticeably beaming as Sammy Hagar – who doubled as emcee for the evening – escorted his oldest daughter to the stage to perform the '19' track," wrote Daniel Kreps of Rolling Stone magazine.

"The Hetfields' powerful rendition of the '19' track was just one of the unlikely tandems sparked by the Acoustic-4-A-Cure event, which also featured Alice in Chains' Jerry Cantrell, Linda Perry, Train's Pat Monahan, Hagar's Chickenfoot band mates Joe Satriani and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, plus actor Adam Sandler …." Kreps said.

Loudwire.com wrote that Hagar performed "The Thrill Is Gone," in honor of the late blues legend Rock and Roll Hall of Famer B.B. King, who died Thursday in Las Vegas at 89.

Many on social media seemed to enjoy the collaboration between Cali Hetfield and her usually hard-rocking father.
