Two painters died after falling six stories off a hydraulic lift near the roof level of a jail in Phoenix, Ariz.
Maricopa County Sheriff's officials said the contracted workers were repainting the Lower Buckeye Jail when the lift tipped over late Wednesday morning, according to The Associated Press.

Sheriff's spokesman Brandon Jones said the accident remains under investigation, but it appears the lift had been placed on a downhill slope on the jail's northwest side.
Jones said inmates in the recreation yard saw the painters fall and reported it to tower officers.
Officials said both workers were taken to a Phoenix hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The names of the two painters haven't been released yet.
Authorities say both victims worked for a Phoenix painting company but another company owns the lift.
